Concreters Naracoorte

The famous terra rossa soils around Naracoorte are red-brown clay-loams sitting over limestone. They're superb for farming and vines, but as a building surface they're moderately reactive — the clay swells when it's wet and shrinks as it dries, which moves the ground and cracks concrete that isn't detailed to cope.

Underneath, the limestone bedrock is often shallow and gives excellent bearing. The art is in matching the slab to the site: where clay dominates we treat it as reactive ground, and where limestone is close to the surface we take advantage of the firm base. Either way, proper compaction, the right reinforcement and well-placed control joints are what keep the finished concrete flat and crack-free.

Naracoorte is a strong regional centre, and we work across the town and out into the surrounding country — near the Naracoorte Caves National Park, the Sheep's Back museum in the old woolstore, the Naracoorte Swimming Lake, and the internationally significant Bool Lagoon wetlands to the south. It's a district of cattle, sheep, cropping and increasingly vines, and that mix drives a lot of practical concreting.

Rural work is a genuine strength here — cattle yards, dairy and farm concreting, shed floors and footings built tough for a working district. Alongside it, we pour driveways, house slabs and decorative finishes for the town. The reactive red soils mean preparation is everything, and that's exactly where we focus.
