The land around Keith is characterised by deep, sandy soils — the historically poor 'Coonalpyn Downs' country that was famously brought into production through trace-element fertilising and clever land management. For farming it's a triumph; for building, deep sand is ground that needs respect.

Loose, deep sand doesn't bear load well until it's properly compacted, and it can allow a poorly prepared slab to settle. We build up and compact a firm sub-base, use appropriate footings, and reinforce to suit — so the concrete sits on a stable platform rather than shifting sand.

Keith is the service centre for a big surrounding district, with landmarks including the historic Landseer-era Congregational church and the granite outcrop of Mount Monster just out of town. It's classic Tatiara farming country — sheep, cattle and cropping — and we cover the town and the properties around it on regular runs.
