Beachport sits on coastal limestone and dune sands, with the remarkable Pool of Siloam nearby — a salt lake so dense you float in it. That salt-rich coastal environment, combined with sea air off the Southern Ocean, is aggressive toward the steel inside concrete. Adequate cover over the reinforcement, a quality mix and sealing the surface are the standard defences, and we build them in.

The sandy ground needs its own attention. Loose or deep sand has to be compacted and prepared so a slab or driveway bears load without settling — skip that step and even a well-mixed pour will move.
